Bath – Travel Diary – Part I

Day 1

Waking up early, getting ready to fly to Bristol. After only a 50 minute flight from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Bristol it was a 2 h drive with the bus to Bath. The busstop was right in front of our Hotel, which made it super easy to drop off the luggage.
Because Bath is such an adorable city it’s great to just have a stroll, walking past the cutest stores and wander through the small streets. And actually that what the planning was for all those days.
The first lunch spot was The Kingsmead Kitchen, where they served delicious vegan plates and a delicious gingerbread latte with soy milk.
The hotel was located in the center, and close by was the Society Cafe which is the cutest coffee spot ever.
We walked past the shops over the Pulteney Bridge and past the River Avon, which was a peaceful walk.

A warm February evening in Paris

// It’s the end of February, usually around this time of year it feels crisp and still cold, but this year spring decided to come by early.
My suitcase was ready for warmer weather, but I couldn’t imagine walking around with bare legs in February.

// It was perfect weather for a stroll from the hotel to the Seine, which took 30 minutes. The sun and atmosphere were perfect. I think Paris is great for walking, especially with sunny weather like this. I’d never seen Paris with this magical sun light before, the only word I can use for this is; magical and purity.

That’s what I love about Paris; it’s warm, fresh, magical, romantic and the scenery can just have been pulled out of a beautiful romantic photo or painting. In life I think the small moments need to be cherished the most. For me that has been the cozy evening walk and the terracce moments; a delicious glass of wine, a good company, some cigarettes, laughter and deep talks. Unfortunately some of those moments will occur to you later, when the moment has passed and you figure you didn’t take enough time to cherish it. To achieve more of those moments I think capturing photo’s, writing thoughts, keeping a daily journal and expressing creativity will improve these small happy things.

Two delicious & healthy pro-workout smoothies

The past few weeks I’ve ‘tried’ waking up around 6, get up, do my morning workout with the Sweat app from Kayla Itsines and drink my smoothie. I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now and the workout plan is for the Monday, Wednesday and Friday. But I’m also doing the Tuesday (repeating Monday) and Thursday (repeating Wednesday). And I have to say I’m really feeling a difference, I notice that the workouts are getting easier, push ups get easier and I even miss workout out when I don’t have time.
After my workout I love to drink a smoothie with fresh fruit and one that fills, so filling enough for breakfast. Here are my 2 go-to delicious and healthy pro-workout smoothies.

Smoothie 1:

What do you need?

Smoothie 2:

Current ‘need to read’ booklist

When I was young I used to read a lot. I remember reading the Harry Potter books (in Dutch) in the chair in the living room next to the piano with a reading lamp on. That’s one is the most cozy memories. So as I child I read a lot, in High School I’ve read lots and lots of books. I can spend hours in a bookstore, just nosing around.
But honestly after High School I just stopped reading books. But it’s time to get started again, so here is my need to read booklist;
Not all of the books are on the list, otherwise it would be too long. There’s not theme going on, actually a mix of books; lifestyle, thriller and astrology books. I think this is a good start for now.

“In a world where we are constantly triggered to be perfect and to perform time and time again, it’s an challenge to be yourself, and mostly to dare to be yourself. Most women therefore go a long way in striving for the ‘miss perfect’ ideal and suppress who they really are. This book wil give you the courage to become the most beautiful you can be; Proudly imperfect your true self’.

The outsider – Stephen king

An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.
As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can.

What I wore in Copenhagen

Last weekend in Copenhagen was quite cold, thats an understatement. I was prepared for the cold don’t worry haha.
My suitcase was full with jumpers, knitwear, a second coat and boots. In the end I only wore 2,5 outfit haha and the same pair of sneakers.

On the plane I wanted to wear something cozy; so a mango oversized jeans, Tommy Hilfiger jumper, my teddy coat and my nike sneakers. I knew that till 15.00 o’clock I wasn’t able to change clothes so I just wore this outfit the entire day.

The next day I went on a search for a new coat, a long black one. This season it has been difficult to find the perfect black coat. But I found one at Zara, it’s not the thickest one, but warmer then I’d expected. Another piece I bought is a new Acne scarf, the most soft and warm scarf I’ve ever owned for sure.
During that day I wore a pantalon ankle hight and a cozy cardigan from H&M, very soft and cozy.

Copenhagen Botanical Garden

Last weekend I went on a trip to Copenhagen, it’s the second time this year that I visited this amazing city.
In July I went on a Srpr.me trip and ended in Copenhagen for 5 days. After this trip I really wanted to go back.
There were a few things that I didn’t visit then and were on my list for this trip. One of those things was the Botanical Garden, this would have been for sure way to warm in July.

I’ve always loved Botanical Gardens, especially the glass with the palm trees. This a a very magical garden, because you have got the interesting stairs going round so you can see it from above.
